Environmental Operating Solutions, Inc. (EOS) opens manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD to serve the Chesapeake Bay region

BOURNE, Massachusetts, June 22, 2007

To better serve the growing needs of wastewater treatment facilities in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, Environmental Operating Solutions, Inc. (EOS) has established a new Baltimore-based manufacturing facility for the production of MicroC G™, a non-hazardous liquid carbon source used by wastewater treatment facilities.

Efforts to restore the Chesapeake Bay include placing limits on the amount of nitrogen discharged by wastewater treatment plants located within the Bay’s 64,000-square-mile watershed. Major projects to upgrade plants for enhanced nitrogen removal have been completed or are underway in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

MicroC G™ is a liquid carbon source that is continually pumped into the wastewater during the nitrogen removal process. It is a non-hazardous alternative to flammable and toxic methanol. MicroC G™ offers operational cost savings related to safety and handling. It also provides substantial capital cost savings for plants completing upgrades by avoiding the use of explosion-proof storage and feed equipment.

The company is able to produce a highly consistent product because no industrial waste materials are used in production – and stringent quality control protocols are utilized.

Plants have been using EOS products for more than five years and include over 150 wastewater treatment facilities in the United States and Canada.

“Establishing a production capability in the Chesapeake Bay region improves our cost position in serving this market – and will enable us to be more responsive to customer needs”, said Eric Stoermer, President & CEO of EOS.
